"The Dinner Party" homage to Judy Chicago

This last Saturday Otis College of Art and Design's MFA, Public Practice cohort #9 aka
YR . GI . RA . MA
had the great opportunity to create our first public engagement together! Check it out!

Cohort #9 in YR . GI . RA . MA order
YR: Yrneh Gabon
GI: Gina Valona

"Dish it Out" will use as inspiration Artist Judy Chicago's legendary "The Dinner Party" which was produced on the 18th Street compound in 1974. "The Dinner Party" features 13 ceramic plates honoring important ‪#‎women‬ in Western history. For BAM Fest (Beer, Art and Music Festival) participants will add a new plate to this remake edition of "The Dinner Party".

Ready to get our dinner party on!

This was a great event in so many ways! I feel so grateful to be right here. It was real awesome to watch the four of us (Cohort #9 | YR . GI . RA . MA ) work together for the first time. We all come from such different backgrounds, to feel the love, energy of that day was inspiring.  Thank you 18th Street Art Center, Judy Chicago, Suzanne Lacy, and Consuelo Velasco Montoya for creating and maintaining an amazing lineage and space!
